날씨가 한 여름이 되면서 휴가철에 고장에 따라서는 축제 등이 열리며 더위도 잊고 전통을 지켜나가면서 삶을 즐기는 계절이 되었다. 인간은 살고 있는 곳의 지리적 특성과 자연히 형성된 종교관과 문화로 독특한 축제를 가지고 있다. 대부분은 악을 쫓고 복을 비는 샤마니즘의 영향이 대부분이다. 삶의 과정에서 생기는 어려움, 병이나 자연의 재해를 피하기를 원하여 관련된 제사나 의식을 올리며 자연에 순화하고 이웃과의 원만하고 협조적인 관계 형성을 위해 서로 노력하며 외세의 침입을 경계하고 함께 힘을 합하여 더 나은 복지 국가를 수립하는 노력을 한다.
세상의 여러 나라들의 저마다의 전통적인 풍속을 보는 축제를 보며 그들의 삶의 면모를 이해하고 다소 그들의 정서를 알아가는 것도 현대인의 상식의 일부가 되었다.
