백악관 경호원의 대통령 경험담: Impressions and Observations of secret service personnel

Impressions & Observations 백악관 경호실에서근무한 요원이 저술한 책이름. 케네디로부터 오바마 시대까지 언급되어있다 미국 대통령과 영부인들, 부통령들의 경호임무를 맡은 경호실 요원이 쓴 “느낀 것과 본 것”이란 책에서 뽑아 낸 이야기. (케네디 대통령 부부): (케네디 대통령은 최고급수의 호색가. Jacqueline여사는 주방보조에게 국빈 만찬에서 남은 포도주를 모으도록 지시, 그것을 새 와인과 섞어서 다음 백악관 행사에서 다시 사용하였다.) John and Jacqueline Kennedy: A philanderer of the highest order.  She ordered the kitchen help to save all the left-over wine  during State dinner, which mixed with fresh wine  and served again during the next White House occasion. (Johnson 대통령 부부):  (Johnson 대통령은 또 다른 최고급수의 호색가에다  매우 지겨울 정도로 거친 사람. 케네디와 Johnson은 둘 다 혼외 정사를 위해 백악관에 많은 여자들을 다려 왔고 부인들이 근처에 있을 경우에 대비 해 조기 경보망을 설치하였다. 그들은 둘 다 성 관계가 문란하였으며 성욕 과잉이었다. Bird 여사는 순진 고지식하였거나 남편의 많은 여자관계를 그저 모르는 척 하였거나 하였다.) Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson: Another philanderer of the highest order.  In addition, LBJ was as crude as the day is long. Both JFK and LBJ kept a lot of women in the White House  for extramarital affairs, and both had set up "early warning systems"  to alert them if/when their wives were nearby.  Both Kennedy & Johnson were promiscuous and oversexed men.  She was either naive or just pretended to "not know" about her husband's many liaisons. 닉슨 대통령 부부): (닉슨 대통령은 품행 단정한 사람이었으나 매우 엉뚱하고 이상한 괴짜로서 여러 특징을 가진 사람. 그의 가족관계는 좋지 않았으며 보기에 따라서는 거의 은둔자 같았다. Pat 여사는 거의 대부분의 시간을 조용히 지냈다. Richard and Pat Nixon: A "moral" man  but very odd and weird, paranoid, etc.  He had horrible relationship with his family, and in a way, was almost a recluse. She was quiet most of the time. (Agnew 부통령: 다정하고 예의 바른 사람. 경호단원은 누구 할 것 없이 그의 몰락을 보고 경악하였다) Spiro Agnew: Nice, decent man,  everyone in the Secret Service was surprised about his downfall.  (포드 대통령 부부: 포드 대통령은 경호원단을 존중하고 품위 있게 대한 진정한 신사로서 대단한 유머 감각의 소유자였다. Betty 여사는 술꾼이었다.) Gerald and Betty Ford: A true gentlemen  who treated the Secret Service with respect and dignity.  He had a great sense of humor.  She drank a lot! Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter: A complete phony  who would portray one picture of himself to public  and very different in private,e.g., would be shown carrying his own luggage,  but the suit cases were always empty;  he kept empty ones just for photo op's.  Wanted the people to see him as pious and a non-drinker,  but he and his family drank alcohol a lot.  He had disdain for the Secret Service,  and was very irresponsible with the "football" nuclear codes.  He didn't think it was a big deal  and would keep military aides at a great distance.  Often does not acknowledge the presence of Secret Service personnel assigned to serve him. She mostly did her own thing. (Reagan 대통령 부부: 진국 같은 사람들---대통령부부는 품격, 정직, 공손, 그리고 위엄을 갖추고서 경호인 단과 그 외 모든 사람을 존경하는 마음으로 대하였으며 항상 모든 사람에게 감사하였다. 대통령은 시간을 내어 개인적 차원에서 누구든 알아 두려고 하였다.) [그는 분명 케네디와 Johnson 대통령의 성적 일탈을 몰랐거나 잊어 먹었다] Ronald and Nancy Reagan: The real deal --- moral, honest, respectful, and dignified.  They treated Secret Service and everyone else with respect and honor.  Thanked everyone all the time.  He took the time to know everyone on a personal level.  One "favorite" story which has circulated among the Secret Service personnel  was an incident early in his Presidency,  when he came out of his room with a pistol tucked on his hip.  The agent in charge asked: "Why the pistol, Mr. President?" He replied, "In case you boys can't get the job done, I can help."  It was common for him to carry a pistol.  When he met with Gorbachev, he had a pistol in his briefcase.  Upon learning that Gary Hart was caught with Donna Rice,  Reagan said, "Boys will be boys, but boys will not be Presidents."  [He obviously either did not know or forgot JFK's and LBJ's sexcapades!] (Nancy 여사는 다정하나 대통령을 매우 감싸고 돌았다. 경호인 단은 때때로 진퇴유곡에 빠졌다. 그녀는 대통령의 식단을 조정하는데 열심이었는데 이에 대해 대통령은 경호원에게 “이리 와서 내가 빠져 나가도록 좀 도와 줘야지” 하곤 하였다.) She was very nice but very protective of the President;  and the Secret Service was often caught in the middle.  She tried hard to control what the President ate,  and he would say to the agent "Come on, you gotta help me out."  The Reagans drank wine during State dinners and special occasions only;  otherwise, they shunned alcohol;  the Secret Service could count on one hand the times  they were served wine during their "family dinner".  For all the fake bluster of the Carters,  the Reagans were the ones who lived life as genuinely moral people. (아버지 Bush 대통령 부부: 극히 친절하고 남을 배려하며 항상 공손 하였다. 경호원들이 편하게 근무 할 수 있도록 크게 신경을 썼다. 그들은 경호원들에게 식사 등을 갖다 주기까지 하였다.) George H. and Barbara Bush: Extremely kind and considerate.  Always respectful.  Took great care in making sure the agents' comforts were taken care of.  They even brought them meals, etc.  (한때 Barbara 여사는 Kennebunkport 에서 실외 근무중인 경호원들에게 따뜻한 의류들을 갖다 주었다. 따뜻한 모자를 받은 한 경호원이 분명 추위에 얼어 붙고 있었지만 “괜찮습니다”하고 예의를 차려 말하려고 했을 때 Bush 대통령이 “이 보게 젊은이, 영부인과 실랑이를 하지 말고 모자를 쓰게나” 하였다. 그는 대통령들 중 가장 민첩하였다. 그는 백악관을 기름을 잘 친 기계같이 운영하였다. One time Barbara Bush brought warm clothes  to agents standing outside at Kennebunkport;  one agent who was given a warm hat,  and when he tried to nicely say "no thanks"  even though he was obviously freezing,  President Bush said "Son, don't argue with the First Lady,  put the hat on."  He was the most prompt of the Presidents.  He ran the White House like a well-oiled machine. She ruled the house and spoke her mind. Bill and Hillary Clinton: Presidency was one giant party.  Not trustworthy --- he was nice because he wanted everyone to like him,  but to him life is just one big game and party.  Everyone knows of his sexuality. (Hillary 여사는 또 다른 엉터리다. 그녀의 성격은 카메라가 가까이 오는 순간 바뀌곤 하였다. 그녀는 사람들이 눈치 챌 정도로 군대와 경호인 단을 싫어하였다. 그녀의 남편처럼 그녀는 주위사람들은 그녀에게 봉사하기 위해 그기에 있는 것이라고 생각하였다. 그녀는 항상 대통령 클린턴에게서 눈을 떼지 않고 감시하려고 하였다.) She is another phony.  Her personality would change the instant cameras were near.  She hated with open disdain the military and Secret Service.  She was another one who felt people are there to serve her.  She was always trying to keep tabs on Bill Clinton. Albert Gore:An egotistical ass,  who was once overheard by his Secret Service  detail lecturing his only son that he needed to do better in school  or he "would end up like these guys" --- pointing to the agents. (아들 Bush 대통령 부부: 경호인 단은 Bush 대통령과 부인 Laura 여사를 좋아하였다. 대통령은 또한 규칙적으로 운동하는 것을 게을리 하지 않아 신체적으로 가장 맵시 있었다. 대통령 부부는 그의 행정 및 가사 참모들이 경호인 단을 존중하고 배려해야 함을 분명히 하였다. 칼 Rove은 행정부내에서 경호인 단을 가장 잘 배려 한 사람이었다.) George W. and Laura Bush: The Secret Service loved him and Laura Bush.  He was also the most physically "in shape"  who had a very strict workout regimen.  The Bushes made sure their entire administrative and household staff understood  to respect and be considerate of the Secret Service.  Karl Rove was the one  who was the most caring of the Secret Service in the administration. She was one of the nicest First Ladies, if not the nicest;  she never had any harsh word to say about anyone. (Obama 대통령 부부: “클린턴을 판박이 한 사람” Obama 대통령은 군대를 싫어하고 경호인 단을 깔본다. 그는 이기적이며 교활하다. 당신의 눈을 쳐다 보며 당신과 동의 하는 체 하나 돌아서면 정 반대로 하는 믿을 수 없는 사람이다. 그는 불끈, 불끈 신경질적인 성격을 가지고 있다. Barack & Michelle Obama: "Clinton all over again"  - hates the military and looks down on the Secret Service.  He is egotistical and cunning;  looks you in the eye and appears to agree with you,  but turns around and does the opposite---untrustworthy.  He has temper tantrums. (Michelle 여사는 정말로 심술 덩어리 여자(*사실은 이 보다 더 심한 욕으로 번역 해야 함)이다. 검지 않은 사람은 누구든 미워한다. 군대도 싫어하고 경호실 요원을 하인 보듯 한다.) She is a complete bitch, who hates anybody who is not black;  hates the military; and looks at the Secret Service as servants.
