뮌헨 10월 맥주축제



독일에서의 맥주는 1516년 바이에른 왕국 빌헬름 4세 때 발표된
맥주 원료 순수령(세계 최초의 식품 위생법)으로 그 품질이 계속
유지되었으며 국민적 음료로 사랑받아왔고 사육제·부활절 축제 ·
종교 행사 등에도 빠질 수 없는 필수품이 되었다.

맥주의 나라 독일에서는 일년 중 각 지방의 특색에 맞춰 전국에
걸친 맥주 축제가 열리는데 그 중에서도 축제 기간 중 1000여 개의
고유 민속 행사가 개최되는 세계적 관광 명소인 뮌헨 맥주 축제가
가장 유명하다.

이 축제는 1810년 바이에른 왕국의 황태자 루드비히와
작센의 테레사 공주와의 결혼을 축하한 경마 모임에서 비롯되었다.
현재는 기타 유럽 국가를 비롯 전세계에서 매년 약 600여만 명의
맥주 애호가가 축제 기간 중 모이며, 이 기간 중 소비되는 맥주는
약500만 리터(생맥주 500㏄로 1000만 저그), 닭은 65만 마리,
소시지는 110만 톤이나 되는 세계 제1의 맥주 축제가 되었다.
