영국 왕실의 결혼: 윌리엄 왕자와 케이트 미들튼 결혼 : Royal Wedding - Detailed Photos

Life of Kate Middleton
Princess in Training Kate Middleton has been on the arm of one of Britain's most eligible bachelors for more than eight years. Take a look at the life of the woman destined to become a princess.
Kate is not a coal miner's daughter, but she is the great-granddaughter of a miner. Kate's family has deep roots in the coal mines of northern England. Her great-grandfather, Tom, pictured front left, worked in the coal pits. Kate's family connection to coal mining only adds to the commoner-turned-princess mystique.
Kate began learning about other cultures as a child. At age 2, she moved with her family to Amman, Jordan, for two and a half years. Kate's experiences abroad might help her relate to the many people who circulate through the palace gates. Kate is photographed here with her sister, Pippa, and father in Jerash, Jordan.
Kate Middleton, 5, smiles for a family photo. Little did she know she was preparing for a life in front of the cameras.
In this Middleton family photo, 3-year-old Kate scales up a rock on a family vacation in the Lake District in England. The official royal wedding site lists hill-walking as a favorite hobby of Kate's.
In June 2005, Kate graduated from St Andrews University in Scotland, where she studied art history. She went to high school at boarding school Marlborough College.
Kate Middleton and Prince William embrace after their graduation from St. Andrews University in June 2005. The pair has followed in the queen's footsteps and not shown much affection in public. This Middleton family picture captures a more relaxed and loving couple.
Prince William and Kate were said to have split in April 2007. Just a few short months later, she attended the Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium in London, sitting with her brother only feet away from the prince. She was among the 70,000 people who joined Princes William and Harry for the concert in memory of their late mother.
Although Kate is regularly spotted at the prince’s ceremonies and polo matches, her attendance at Prince William’s graduation from The Royal Military Academy was seen as a game changer. This was the first time she attended an important event with the queen and other senior royals. Many saw it as a coming-out for the prince’s girlfriend.
Kate has supported William in all of his royal duties. Here, she attends the Annual Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle in June 2008 where Prince William was made a Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter by the queen, becoming the 1,000th in history.
Kate Middleton was raised in a middle-class family in Bucklebury, 60 miles outside London. Kate’s father, Michael, was an airline pilot and her mother, Carole, was a flight attendant before they started their own party supply business, Party Pieces, and became self-made millionaires. The Middletons made sure their daughters received a good education, sending them to some of the United Kingdom’s best schools. Prince William has described Kate’s parents as loving, caring, fun and welcoming.
Kate has attended charity events on the prince's arm, but royal watchers are waiting to see if she dives into that kind of work like William and his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, did. William is the patron or president of at least 20 organizations, and Diana was the president or patron of more than 100 charities during her marriage to Prince Charles.
Kate is a familiar face on the sidelines of the polo field, where she has often been seen cheering on Prince William.
Kate and William's isn't the only royal relationship taking the plunge. Here, Prince William’s younger brother, Prince Harry, attends a rugby match with his cousin, Zara Phillips, who is engaged to rugby player Mike Tindall.
Months before she is set to serve as Kate's maid of honor, Kate’s sister, Philippa “Pippa” Middleton, 27, attends the wedding of a friend.
Kate attends the Gatcombe Park Festival of British Eventing with friends in August 2005. She has proven herself to be a multitasker over the years, balancing academics, friends, family and her relationship with the heir to the British throne.
Over the years Kate has worn a bright smile to match her many hats. Her style sense is closely watched, and signature pieces include long jackets, boots and the occasional feathered fascinator. While Prince William became a lieutenant in the British Army, Kate worked as an accessories buyer for British clothing chain Jigsaw.
After eight years, Prince William and Kate, now referred to as Catherine, announce they will finally say “I do.” William popped the question at 28 – the youngest age that he said he would marry.
Prince William and Kate make their first official appearance since their engagement. In February 2011, Kate dedicates the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's (RNLI) new lifeboat with a bottle of Champagne.
Kate and Will make a visit to Anglesey in February 2011; the island off the coast of Wales is where they're said to live as husband and wife.
Smiling Kate meets members of the public – and potential neighbors – as she and Prince William attend a naming ceremony for a new lifeboat in Anglesey.
In February, Prince William and Kate return to their alma mater, University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where Kate first stole the prince’s heart. They make the trip six years after their graduation to launch a campaign marking the 600th anniversary of the university’s founding. Prince William is the patron of the campaign.
St. Andrews established a new scholarship in honor of William and Kate. The university presented the scholarship to the couple as a wedding gift in February.
Kate practices her kitchen skills while accompanying William on his first official visit to Northern Ireland. She's flipping pancakes to mark Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, when the British indulge in sugar, fat, eggs and other foods that are not eaten during Lent. As Kate greeted the crowd that gathered in Belfast, one woman gave her a daffodil pin after Kate said she liked it. Kate held the pin in her hand while she flipped flapjacks with the other.
Kate Middleton talks to children during a visit to Witton Country Park in Darwen, northern England, on April 11. A large crowd of well-wishers braved a downpour to cheer Prince William and Kate Middleton as they took part in their final official engagement before their wedding.
Kate is poised, as usual, at William's Royal Military Academy graduation ceremony. When the cameras focused on the Middletons during the Sandhurst parade, Kate's mother, Carole, was spotted chewing gum -- a major faux pas.

Kate Middleton's Style Secret
After graduating from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, Middleton worked as an accessories buyer for Jigsaw, a British mass clothing store. During her time there, she collaborated with jewelry designer Claudia Bradby on a necklace that's now being reissued for $71.
Middleton's go-to designer is the Brazilian born Daniella Issa Helayel, who heads up the Issa label. (Stars like Madonna, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson and Kate Moss also love her work.) Helayel's designs are known for their classic silhouettes and vibrant colors.
It's clear that Middleton turns to the color on important occasions. On the day she and Prince William announced their engagement to the world (center), she chose a fittingly royal shade.
Yes, you read correctly: The princess-to-be shops at mass stores! Back in 2007, Middleton wore a Topshop dress on her 25th birthday. The $78 dress was entirely sold out just 24 hours after the photos of her wearing it were released.
Middleton trusts her long brunette strands to The Richard Ward Salon in London. "Our relationship with [Kate] has been built on discretion and trust," the salon said in a statement after the engagement. "Richard and his team intend to maintain this relationship whilst respecting Kate's on-going privacy."
The bride-to-be has been spotted in all manner of hats -- from fanciful wedding fascinators to berets and fedoras. Many of them, like the one top left, are designed by Philip Treacy, who counts Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss among his top clients.
You're much more likely to catch the future princess in knee-high boots than in stilettos. She wears them with jeans, tights and bare legs.
In an interview with Sky News, Middleton fessed up to having a poster of the Levi's jeans model on her dorm wall -- not of Prince William, like many of her peers. No doubt her future husband looks equally dashing in denim.

Kate's Royal Style

Kate Middleton wears everything from fancy hats to casual tank tops. See how the future princess can easily go from a high society affair to shopping on the streets of London. Kate Middleton — in a navy blue suit by British designer Amanda Wakeley — and Prince William visit Whitton Park on April 11, 2011 in Darwen, England. Life of Prince William

Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales leave St Mary's Hospital in London with one-day-old William Arthur Philip Louis. Born on June 22, 1982, Prince William is second in line to the throne.

The photographer who took the first images of Prince William as a baby has just discovered several unseen shots of the Prince lost nearly 30 years ago. Ian Pelham-Turner, who ironically now has studios opposite Kensington Palace, took the baby pictures in 1982. "I got a random phone call a few days ago and found out that in the region of 100,000 pictures had been discovered in boxes in an old building near the London Wall. It appears that they had been left by former agents of mine," he said in a press release. "When I opened the first box the images of Diana were the first to come out – just days before Prince William’s wedding."

Photographer Ian Pelham-Turner, who has has spent four decades working with royalty, took pictures of the royal family in 1982, but only recently learned about the whereabouts of the forgotten images.

Westminster Abbey

Here comes the ... dean. The Dean of Westminster Abbey, John Hall, walks through Britain's most famous church, where Prince William is planning to marry his fiancée Kate Middleton on April 29 before a global audience that's expected to top 1 billion people.

Westminster Abbey is where William's grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, wed in 1947; it was also the site of his mother Princess Diana's funeral in 1997.

The royal insignia is seen above the Great West Door entrance of Westminster Abbey in central London. Westminster Abbey is one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic architecture in the country and is of great historical and symbolic significance, as the location where sovereigns since the 11th century have been crowned, including Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

On Nov. 11, 1920, a coffin containing the body of an unidentified member of the armed forces from the First World War battlefields was buried here. A History of British Royal Weddings

King Edward VIII, formerly the Prince of Wales, formally abdicated the British throne on Dec. 11, 1936, in order to marry Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American socialite. Edward's younger brother became King George VI. In June 3, 1937 Edward and Wallis Simpson married in a secluded Chateau de Cande in the Loire Valley in France.

Westminster Abbey was the scene of the marriage of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip on Nov. 20, 1947. They first met at the wedding of Prince Philip's cousin, Princess Marina of Greece, to The Duke of Kent, who was an uncle of Princess Elizabeth, in 1934.

St. Paul's Cathedral was the venue for the glamorous wedding of Prince Charles to 20-year-old Lady Diana Spencer which relieved the gloom of economic recession. Diana became one of the most high-profile royals and gave the institution some glamour. The mood was one of national rejoicing. But the union was ill-starred, and the marriage eventually collapsed amid mutual accusations of adultery

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson first met each other as children beside the polo field. Sarah's father was a polo manager for Prince Charles. Prince Andrew and Sarah were married in Westminster Abbey on July 23, 1986. The couple had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. In May 1996 the Duke and Duchess of York divorced, but they have continued to share custody of their daughters.

Prince Edward, the Queen's youngest son is the only one of her children who has not divorced. He married public relations executive Sophie Rhys-Jones and they became the Earl and Countess of Wessex. Their first baby, named Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor was born in January 2004, and their son James, Viscount Severn, was born in December 2007.

The marriage of Charles, Prince of Wales to Mrs. Camilla Parker Bowles was dedicated in St. George's Chapel following a civil ceremony in Windsor's Guildhall on April 9.

Peter Phillips, the Queen's eldest grandchild, married Autumn Kelly on May 17, 2008, at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
