8개가 넘는 8000미터 이상의 최고봉 부터
이름도 없는 봉우리까지 그야말로 세계의 지붕이자
산악인과 트래커의 성지라 할수 있다.
대표적으로 쿰부 에베레스트, 안나푸르나, 랑탕히말라야등
3개의 코스가 트래커들에게 널리 사랑받는다.
특히, 안나푸르나 코스는 개별적인 여행구간으로선
세계최고의 여행지로 외국 유명 여행잡지에 선정된바 있다.
2. 파키스탄 카라코람 지역
Pakistan is known for its high altitude climbing where the area provides equal opportunity for Rock climbing as well. There are numerous untouched rock faces in the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush ranges of Pakistan which are ideal for rock climbers.
The Trango Towers in Baltoro are one of well known rock peaks in the world. Trango and Shiptren Spire in the Baltoro Region gives a different outlook and challenge for rock climbers.
Nangma Valley is nestled by needle like rock peaks. The Amin Brack and Changi Tower are the popular peaks among the dozens. The approach to these peaks are easy and short.
Saraksa valley in the north east of Hushe possesses some of the best rock climbing peaks in the world. The Fati peak, Neza peak and Farhat peak presents unique climbing opportunities for rock enthusiasts.

오래전 배낭여행자들에게 전설적인 여행 구간으로
꼽혔던 곳으로 중국 카스가르에서 파키스탄
이슬라마바드까지 총 1, 257km에 이르는 구간이다.
신라 고승 혜초가 서역을 왕래했던 길이며
옛 실크로드의 길이기도 하다.
이 구간에는 히말라야 14좌중 5개의 봉우리가 있는데
“하늘의 절대군주”라고 불리는 K2도 이곳에 있다.
네팔 트래킹이 여성적이라면
카라코람 트래킹은 산세가 거칠어 남성적이라고 한다.
경비와 난이도 면에서도 네팔보다 조금 더 힘들다.
3.남미 파타고니아

4. 뉴질랜드 밀포드
Milford Sound
Milford Sound is the most famous fjord in New Zealand. Usually it rains here for about 300 days every year! That adds up to about 8 metres of rain!!! We had to wait for one week in the next town to see it like this.
The mountain to the left rises just over a mile (1692 metres) above sea level. It's called Mitre Peak. The two mountains on the right are the Elephant and the Lion, because of their shape. There is a huge waterfall coming out of the Elephant's trunk!

5. 사천성의 야딩 풍경구
Yangmaiyong Peak- Yading Peak
Yading, the "Shangri-La" discovered by Joseph Rock in 1928, is renowned for the 3 holy peaks, which were blessed in the 8th century by Buddha Padmasambhava of projecting his divine light onto the range and naming the 3 elevations after 3 bodhisattvas.
The south peak Jambeyang (or Jampelyang, Yangmaiyong) of 5,958m is the avatar of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom. The east peak Chanadorje (or Xianuoduoji) of the same height represents Vajrapani , the Bodhisattva of Wrath. The north peak, Chenresig (or Chenrezig, Xiannairi ) of 6,032m, the highest of the trio, symbolizes Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Mercy.
The 3 peaks are the patron saint of the Tibetan. It's said that if a Tibetan pilgrimage to the shrine 3 times in life, he can be blessed with all he desires. Therefore, pilgrimage to this holy range is a long-cherished wish of each Tibetan.
Yading is one of China's most awe-inspiring nature reserves, Tibetan's holy land. Every stunning vista here is celebrated with a gompa, prayer flags or Mani Stones. On this adventurous trip you will take in relatively remote areas of Tibetan culture - small towns reminiscent of the wild west, rolling landscapes characterized by wheat and barley fields and Tibetan houses.

샹그릴라의 혼이라 불리는 곳.
1930년대 내셔널지오그래픽 표지를 장식하면서
외부 세계에 알려진 곳이다.
믿을수 없는 천국 같은 풍경이 눈앞에 펼쳐진 것이다.
당시 수 많은 탐험가들이 사진을 근거로
야딩을 찾았으나 최초 발견한 사람조차
그곳을 다시 찾지 못하고 중국은 공산화가 된다..
이후 오랜시간 세월속에 사라졌다가
중국정부가 개방정책때 사진을 근거로 다시 찾은 곳이다.
몇 년 이내에 중국 최고의 관광지로 발전할
가능성이 가장 높은곳으로 개발이 더 되기전에 가보아야 할 곳이다.
6. 말레이지아 보르네오섬의 키나발루
The summit of mount Kinabalu (known as Low’s Peak, not the one shown on this photo) is 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level. The South Peak however is the most photogenic peak.
The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world, with over 600 species of ferns, 326 species of birds, and 100 mammalian species identified. Among them are the gigantic Rafflesia plants and the orangutan. Mount Kinabalu has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status.

보르네오 섬 최북단에 위치한 말레이지아 사바주,
이곳에 동남아시아에서 가장 높은 산이 있다.
해발 4095미터 키나발루는 원시 자연이
건강하게 살아있는 생명의 산으로 늘 구름에 덮여있어
눈이 아닌 영혼으로 봐야되는 산이라 한다.
우리나라에서 가장 많이 가는
해외 트래킹 산으로 타 지역의 트래킹에 비해
비교적 짧은 시간으로 동남아 최고봉 정상에 오를 수 있다.
7. 탄자니아 킬리만자로

탄자니아에 자리잡은 적도의 최고봉,
아프리카의 혼이라 불리는 킬리만자로는 5, 895미터로
아프리카 대륙 최고봉이며, 세계 최대·최고의 휴화산이다.
스와힐리어로 ‘번쩍이는 산’이라는 뜻의 킬리만자로는,
적도 부근에 위치하면서도 만년설에 덮여 있어 백산이라고도 한다.
하지만 지구 온난화로 인해 2015년~20년사이
만년설이 모두 녹을 것이라고 한다.
산이 어떻게 생겼는지는 몰라도 이런 산이 아프리카에 있다는걸
대한민국 성인들은 노래를 통해서 알고 있는 산이다.
금전적으로 비용이 가장 많이 드는 트래킹중 하나이다.
8. 남미 베네수엘라 로라이마
Monte Roraima
20억년전 지구의 지각변동으로 생겨진 테푸이.
그것도 원시자연의 모습을 그대로 간직한 이곳은
아마존 사람들의 영혼이 머무는 곳이다.
남 아메리카 베네수엘라 카나이마 국립공원에 자리잡은
로라이마 산은 극적인 대자연의 장관을 보여주는 곳이다.
다양한 생태환경으로 인해 영국의 소설가 코넌 도일은
이 곳에서 영감을 받아 소설 `로스트 월드`를 집필했다.
테푸이 고원과 테이블 마운틴으로 유명한 이곳에는
세계에서 가장 높은 979미터의 엔젤폭포가 있다.
테푸이란 뜻은 남아메리카 기아나 고원지대에 있는
탁상 모양의 높은 산을 현지인 들이 부르는 말이다,
9. 서부 티벳의 카일라스 코스
우주의 중심.
지구의 배꼽으로 통하는 신들의 산 카일라스.
우리에겐 수미산으로 알려진 카일라스는
4 대 종교의 성지이자 갠지스와 인더스 강의 발원이다.
티벳 인들은 가장 성스러운 산으로 생각하여 '눈의 부처'라고 부른다.
해발 5천 고지의 서부티벳 오지중의 오지에 있으며
트래킹 코스중 가장 힘든 곳으로 이곳으로 가기길 또한 쉽지않다.
보통 3박 4일에 걸쳐 카일라스를 도는데 (코라)
티벳인들은 오체투지로 코라를 한다.
카일라스를 한 바퀴 돌면 전생의 업이 소멸된다고 한다.
10. 인도네시아 자바의 부르모 화산

브르모 화산은 인도네시아 자바 섬 동쪽에 있는
인도네시아에서 가장 성스러운 산으로
'불의 신'이 살고 있다고 현지인들은 믿는다.
이 신비스러운 화산은 언제나 구름에 덮여 있는 채로
쉴새없이 연기를 내뿜고 있다.
특히 가장 아름다운 일출시간에 이 모습을 본 트래커들은
마치 판타지세계에 있는듯한 착각을 일으킬만큼
몽환적인 분위기를 휩싸인다.
조랑말을 타고도 올라 갈수 있기 때문에
비교적 쉬운 트래킹 코스이다.
